Kyoko Endo

BIO

Born in Kobe , Japan, Kyoko moved to United States when she was 18 years old to study painting. While she was studying painting and printmaking at the University of Georgia, a mathematics professor noticed her outstanding mathematics skills and encouraged her to pursue serious study of mathematics. Her decision was to major in Fine Art and minor in Mathematics.... solving mathematics problems daytime and painting in her studio night time. She was selected to be a member of Golden Key International Honer Society - which invites only the highest-achieving  students at select universities worldwide - for her remarkable academic achievements in both fields....Art and Mathematics.

Her goal was to find the connection between Art & Mathematics through Abstract Geometrical Art = "the synthesis of Art and Mathematics". After she received her Bachelor of Fine Art degree from UGA, she decided to pursue the combination of these two fields..... Art + Mathematics = Architecture to gain more knowledge about these fields.  She has worked as an architectural designer and a CAD/3D CG designer for over 10 years and immersed herself into digital industrial art world.

On her Birthday night in 2006, she realized she has lost touch with her true passion, Fine Art (painting), for a long time and decided to pick up a brush again to pursue her original goal. Within a year, she has been selected as "CAC Around Town Artist" by Chicago Artist's Coalition and also invited to participate in various exhibitions in Chicago, Los Angeles, Washington DC and Japan. In 2009 She was awarded second place at "Oahu Art Center" Exhibition in Honolulu, Hawaii.

Her work has been described as extremely unique, original, innovative, sensual, feminine, thought-provoking, dynamic, powerful, sumptuous and universal by collectors and curators.

Method

"I use the "experimental laboratory" method to create my paintings. I like to experiment and combine various techniques, mediums and styles to create something new, original and innovative. I'm constantly searching for new approaches to express my emotions, philosophies and ideas and like to explore new possibilities of visual arts in contemporary world (2009 and beyond)."  Kyoko Endo
